Our tale unfolds in an ancient time, in a mystical land of the East. Sultan Shahriyar has been betrayed by the woman he loved—his own wife—and his closest friend. Masalımız, fi tarihinde, masalsı bir doğu ülkesinde geçmektedir.  Sultan Şehriyar, âşık olduğu karısı tarafından en yakın arkadaşıyla ihanete uğramıştır.  Ne yazık ki, Sultan’ın öfkesi, ikisinin de ölümüyle son bulmamıştır. Kadınlara güvenmeyen ve annesinin veliaht arzusuna zaman zaman boyun eğen Şehriyar, ülkenin en güzel genç kızları ile evlenmek durumunda kalır. Tam on iki defa… Ne var ki, gerdek gecesinin sabahında genç kızlar sırra kadem basarlar. Halk arasında Sultan’ın, genç kızları öldürdüğü konuşulmakta, müreffeh ülkenin adaletli sultanına duyulan korku her geçen gün artmaktadır. Ülkenin veziri Hamid, kızlarını Sultan’dan saklamak için yıllarca şehrin çeperinde küçük bir kulübede yaşatmıştır. Ne var ki kader, Vezir ’in kızı Şehrazat’ı, Sultanın karısı yapacaktır.  Şehrazat, ülkenin kızlarını Sultanın amansız intikam hastalığından kurtarabilmek için bile isteye evlendiği Sultan’ı anlattığı masallarla öfkesinden kurtarabilecek midir?  Sultan’ın annesinin veliaht arzusuna bir çare olabilecek midir? Daha da önemlisi, evlendikleri gece hayatta kalabilecek midir?  Şehrazat, hayatta kalmak, ülkenin genç kızlarını sultanın hışmından korumak, sultanı düştüğü amansız intikam hastalığından kurtarmak için önce Allah’a, sonra da masallara sığınır. Şehrazat’ın anlattığı masallar Sultan’ın herkesten sakladığı kendi sırları ve onu tedavi edecek en güzel Doğu masallarıdır. Orta Asya’dan, Anadolu’ya… Hindistan’dan, Çin’e… İran’dan, Arabistan’a en güzel ve en gizemli aşk masalları… 1001 gecenin sonunda Şehrazat, hiç bilmediği ama anlattığı aşk masallarıyla gerçek aşkı bulabilecek midir?
